Life Massage works on very strict guidelines.
The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 (click heading to read the full text.)
states that the following businesses are permitted to stay open:
- 47. Dental services, opticians, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractors, osteopaths and other medical or health services, including services relating to mental health.” (page 32).
Therefore, the complementary therapy association I belong to has given its members permission to work in our capacity of complementary health care practitioners.
Exception 11.3 in relation to gatherings, covers work purposes hence, a clinical setting can allow clients in.
In line with our duty of care we must be cautious to avoid the risk of contracting or spreading the virus.
You must consider your needs before booking and only book an appointment if you fall under one of the categories below:
- You have a clear, clinical need for treatment, e.g. injury, acute pain etc.
- You have a clear need for (not just want) the treatment for clinical / health care reasons
In addition, we ask anyone who:
- is feeling unwell, has been in contact with or lives with someone who is feeling unwell
- has travelled to risk areas
Not to book appointments. Whomever wants a treatment must have followed the 14 days self isolation when required, or the latest government guidelines. They must be taking all precautions in social distancing and hygiene when going shopping and in public areas.
They will be asked to use a hand gel provided by us on their arrival, leave their shoes at the entrance and wear a mask provided by us or their own, if in appropriate conditions.
Our clinic is thoroughly disinfected before and after each visit. This includes all door handles, hard surfaces and toilet. In addition, the clinic floor is disinfected with an antiviral spray at the end of each working day.
All our towels are changed after each client and washed at 60 degrees minimum.
The therapist will wear a face mask at the client arrival and during the treatment, they will have used a hand gel before opening the door and before/after treating each client and will be treating wearing medical gloves.
You must state in the notes of each booking that you have read and comply with the above guidelines before attending the clinic.
